Through this project I am exploring how showing status with clothes and jewelry has been apart of the black culture since the slavery, this was a way for your master to show you off to the other slave owners. However  these owners like these brands usually are not concerned with the advancement of the black and brown community, until there is societal pressure. But no matter their sins we still support their system through our obsession with commodities
